Dominican Week has deserved the recognition and support of representative institutions with great leadership in the Dominican Republic and in the Dominican expatriate community in the U.S. Henceforth, those institutions are committed to keeping this program alive, updated and expanded.
Thus we can affirm that the future of Dominican Week has gone beyond the sustained efforts of its Organizing Committee to engage directly the dynamic sectors that share its vision and mission in its leadership process.
To consolidate and formalize the involvement of these partners in planning and conducting events, Dominican Week has signed agreements through which it pursues the exaltation of the values of our Dominican national identity and the strengthening of cooperation ties between the two friendly nations.
It is worth noting the agreement signed with Fundación Global, Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE ) whereby this institution takes responsibility for organizing various activities of Dominican Week. Equally important is the agreement signed with the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAM), whereby this leading association takes responsibility for the implementation of various meetings of paramount importance in the United States.
It is also worth noting the incorporation of The Group of Dominican Professionals of Washington (GPD-WASH), which will be in charge of designing and carrying out important events of mutual interest for the two countries.
One cannot fail to mention in this regard the outstanding contributions of the “Dominicans on Wall Street” Group which is responsible for designing and conducting high-level panels, covering issues related to capital markets, mobilizing the participation of the Dominican Diaspora. Of vital importance is the incorporation of new players willing to take responsibility in the development of Dominican Week, amongst which the Universidad APEC (UNAPEC), in the Dominican Republic, and the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute at The City College of New York.
It is with the faith and enthusiasm of these new players that Week Dominican will continue to successfully evolve; keeping alive the original purposes of those who launched this positive initiative more than fifteen years ago.
